CEO Update

March 30, 2019

March has been a very busy month: Our sales team is fully engaged in customer meetings, demonstrating our solution, attending trade fairs and exchanging client feedback with the development team. The product team rolled out new features for MODsense while working on next generation projects. In addition, our operations team is continuing to build the operational backbone and is heavily engaged in solution deployment projects, helping our customers find the optimal way to integrate MODsense into their operations. In short: We are ready for the second quarter of 2019.

LogiPharma

As announced before, we will kick off the quarter with a key industry conference: From April 9-11, Modum will have a booth at LogiPharma in Montreux – the date is drawing closer and our preparations are in full swing. Our booth will be dedicated to showcasing how our solutions surpass typical supply chain monitoring by focusing on widespread business and operational challenges and helping to solve them. One of the use cases we will be presenting in detail is how we can support efficient quality assurance as a service solution for product manufacturers. One key element in this regard is the integration of MODsense in the SAP environment. We will show how this can look like using the SAP Global Track and Trace (GTT) module that I have already mentioned in last month’s CEO Update. This integration is important because it simplifies monitoring for clients already using SAP and gives them the opportunity to automate their quality assurance and significantly increase their efficiency with their existing tools and processes. Watch our video to see how GTT and MODsense seamlessly work together.

Milestone 3 voting update

I also want to provide an update on our token milestones, a topic primarily relevant to our token- and shareholders. In our whitepaper we outlined that our third token milestone will be ready for voting in Q1 2019 at the earliest. Given that we want to focus on the commercialization of our first product and continue to leverage the feedback received so far for our next sensor generation, we decided to postpone the token milestone voting. We will keep you updated!

Marketing

On March 25, I held a well-received speech at the SAP Postal Innovation Council in Madrid. I spoke about how Modum helps Swiss Post to optimize their temperature monitoring offering. The SAP Postal Innovation Council is a major event for postal organizations using SAP and partner offerings such as ours to join forces and find solutions to solve their digital transformation challenges. One of the achievements for us was identifying further postal organizations with real-life challenges that we can help solve. It was also a good opportunity to connect and exchange thoughts on customer challenges with SAP account and industry managers. Plus: Swiss Post won – out of 280 applicants – the SAP Innovation Award in the category “Process Innovator” for our co-innovation project “Smart Pharma” and the transformational work on becoming an intelligent enterprise – Congratulations!

Another major marketing endeavour is taking place next month: Modum will participate in PwC’s industry-specific “Scale” program where they look for Europe’s most promising start-ups and support their business growth and scaling by, bringing them together with retail and logistics customers from the PwC network. The Scale program is a great opportunity for us to accelerate our international business development, and to look into adjacent use cases and related industries. The main event of this business accelerator will happen in Frankfurt at the beginning of May – I will share more about it in our May CEO update.

As promised in February, here are the events Modum will be present at in April:

On 2 April, our Chief Commercial Officer Carl Spörri will be present at the MedTech Network Event Technopark Zurich. At this fully booked event he will hold a brief speech about the application of blockchain based solutions in life science supply chains.

In the same week, on 3 and 4 April, Modum will be present at the SAP Campus Forum 2019 in Basel, Tobias Peltenburg Brechneff, Chief Operations Officer, and Yves Holenstein, Sales and Account Manager will attend. The Campus Forum is SAP’s biggest sales event in Switzerland, introducing the newest solutions of SAP and their partners to customers, providing answers on how to transform your business and network with business leaders and expert peers.

Sacha Uhlmann, Chief Product Officer will be a guest at the J.P. Morgan Life Sciences – from San Francisco to Zurich event on 11 April in Zurich. At this private conference the question of how innovation and technological advancement might impact the Healthcare, Biotech, Med-tech and Pharmaceutical sectors will be explored. We are looking forward to seeing you at one of these events.

As you can read, there is a lot in the pipeline - stay tuned for more.

I am looking forward to a successful April and wish all of you the same. Thank you for your ongoing support.
