CEO Update, January 2019
January 31, 2019
Modum has had a great start to the new year and we hope that 2019 has been fantastic so far for you as well.
With the new year picking up speed, Modum is ready to fully engage with our existing and new business partners and win their business. In the past month, our team has hit the ground running: we have concluded our internal reorganization, grown our sales pipeline, and finalized our certification efforts. We are stress-testing our solution through projects with several clients while we continue to prepare the roll-out of our joint solution with Swiss Post. These are all important steps fundamental to our success and sustained growth throughout the course of this year. In this month’s CEO update, I will outline our achievements in each area, illustrating our solid launchpad for growth in 2019.
In last month’s CEO update, I described the new team structure that we have put in place to support our growing and increasingly diverse team. This new structure supports our go-to-market efforts and our commitment to deliver.
I am thrilled to feel the team’s momentum building on a daily basis as we find new ways to drive forward. Our recruiting for 2019 has now begun and we have a number of open positions posted on our website, including: Quality Management Director, Public Relations & Corporate Communications Manager, Sales & Account Manager, Content Specialist, Accounting & Controlling Specialist, Embedded Systems Engineer.
Generating sales is a key priority for 2019. We continue to have meetings, building up relationships and growing contacts within our target markets. Over the past few months we have developed an extensive pipeline of sales contacts and we are constantly iterating our go-to-market strategy as we reach new customers and find new opportunities. Currently, we are focused on rolling out our MODsense solution with Swiss Post as an integral part of their new Thermomonitoring offering, with commercial agreements and processes in place, we are testing across the nation-wide postal network.
Going forward, we will continue to establish a partner network that multiplies our reach to new customers. We are also continuing to update our product roadmap based on the ongoing commercial projects we have run — we currently have two underway with major players in pharma distribution and are receiving great feedback.
The promotion of our solutions on the market is a key factor in supporting our sales efforts. As a start-up it is key to understand in which marketing measures to invest in order to achieve the most impact in increasing our sales pipeline and more important close deals. Presenting our company and solutions at events is one important factor to gain visibility in the marketplace and connect potential customers with the tangible benefits of our solutions. We have three key events already scheduled for Q1 and Q2 2019:
Temperature Controlled Logistics held in London from January 28-30th is a major industry event. It is very important as part of the MODsense go-to-market phase because of the key players in attendance. The event focuses specifically on Temperature Controlled Logistics, allowing us to position MODsense in a very focused industry setting. We are looking forward to great networking and lead generation opportunities that such an event offers. Please visit our booth if you are at the event, it would be great to get in touch.
The Swiss SAP Innovation Day will be held at SAP’s Swiss headquarters on February 6th. SAP GTT is SAP’s latest solution to tracking the status and fulfillment of processes and goods in transit across a company’s global inbound, manufacturing, and fulfillment chain. Modum ensures interoperability with the integration of MODsense into SAP GTT, which closes the link between shipment localization and monitoring of environmental conditions. At the Innovation Day leadership from both SAP and Modum will be present to share our technology and solutions. If you would like to be a part of the event and the discussion, you can register here.
In April, Modum will present at LogiPharma in Montreux with our second booth this year. LogiPharma is the largest global conference for the pharmaceutical industry on supply chain, with all the key players in the market present. The conference focuses on pharmaceutical logistics and will round out the exposure we will have gained at TCL with direct contact with distributors from different parts of Europe.
For further news on events throughout the year, please check our events page for announcements.
This month, a special documentary by the German television station 3Sat aired on prime-time television. Modum is profiled among other companies in a focus report on the potential of blockchain technology and showcasing its applications. The piece on Modum illustrates nicely how easily our MODsense solution works in the real world.
We’re also proud to mention that Modum has been nominated for yet another award. We are one of ten finalists for this year’s Pioneer Prize, established by ZKB and Technopark. To learn about all the candidates please visit the website. We are looking forward to the winner announcement at the ceremony in May. Keep your fingers crossed!
If January is any indication, 2019 promises to be a great year for us and our supporters!
