08 Sep Events in September
September is a big month for the modum team. Alongside the MOD Token sale we are participating in a number of events and conferences, celebrating our success over the past year, building our community of blockchain enablers, and presenting our use case and service offering to new audiences.
On August 29th, Michael Taylor presented ‘blockchain basics’ and the modum.io use case to a full house at the Finanz and Wirtschaft Forum’s Health 2.017 conference. The conference focused on strategies and business models of digitization within the healthcare industry, asking: with which future-oriented strategies, business models and innovations will health professionals benefit from digitalization? How are trends, such as increasing personalization or advances in artificial intelligence, taken into account?
Michael’s presentation followed a keynote address by David Rowan, Editor-at-large of Wired UK.
On September 6th and 7th modum was one of the handpicked start-ups invited to attend the 7th annual Pirate Summit in Cologne. The event is not your typical start-up conference: bungee jumping and effigy burning made this high-energy event a rare experience. Michael “walked the plank” and presented modum’s business concept in the annual pitch competition. Our team met with ton’s of interesting start-ups from all over the continent. We look forward to seeing everyone involved again next year!
On September 14, CEO Malik El Bay will present at Finance 2.0 in Zurich and our board member Marc Degen will speak on the panel discussion. The goal of the conference is to discuss the long-term capabilities and the impact of cryptocurrencies on finance. The conference asks: how has blockchain effectively changed industries and how has it effected our very personal life? What are the actual use cases now and in the foreseeable future?
To help find answers to these questions Malik will deliver a talk entitled “How to raise 10 million USD in 5 hours instead of 5 months.” And Marc will speak to the ICO as a revolution in financing versus a bubble.
Later this month on September 20th, COO Stefan Weber will speak at the Innovation World Cup Conference in Neuchâtel at the Microcity Auditorium. The conference will discuss wearables, Internet of Things, and cloud computing.
